What is Interlibrary Loan?
If the item you’re looking for isn’t available in the Yavapai Library Network catalog, has an older publication date, is out of print, and is unable to be purchased by Prescott Public Library, you can request the item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Interlibrary Loan is a service that allows Prescott Public Library patrons to borrow materials from libraries outside the Yavapai Library Network. In turn, PPL loans materials to other requesting libraries throughout the United States.
Note: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) items incur a $3 fee per item to help offset the cost of return postage. Prescott Public Library must be your home library to use this service.

Requesting
In order to place an ILL request, you must have a Prescott Public Library card with correct contact information and your card must be in good standing (fines cannot be $10 or more). You may order up to six items at a time through Interlibrary Loan. Please be patient—requests can take four to six weeks.
Picking Up
You will be notified when the ILL item has been received by the library. The item may then be picked up at the 1st floor Check Out Desk. You have 10 days to pick up the item before it is returned to the lending library.
A $3 fee to help offset the cost of return postage will be collected when you pick up the item. This fee will still be charged to the patron account if the item is not picked up and may result in the loss of ILL privileges.
Returning
Please return items directly to a Check Out Desk on the 1st or 2nd floor. Please do not return ILL items in bookdrops or to other libraries in the network.
A $1 per day overdue fee will be charged per item. Failure to return materials on time may result in the loss of ILL privileges.
Renewing
If you need to renew an ILL item, call the Ask a Librarian Desk at 928.777.1526 or the Interlibrary Loan Desk at 928.777.1500 ext. 5306 before the due date. If the lending library declines the renewal, the item must be returned by the original due date. Items may only be renewed one time.
